Friday 8th September
Past Captain David Sifton was back at the helm again after the event’s three year enforced break.
Sifters put on a vintage performance as MC, with his usual playful comedic turn of phrase and antics, he picked off his victims, regardless of ranking within the club.
There was a record 19 ‘Challenge Dinner Virgins’ who were given Sifter’s special welcome along with a forever lasting nick-name. Ably assisted by Alasdair ‘The Bookie’ Brown, Ewan ‘Dinky’ Duncan, and Robert ‘Dirty Uncle Bertie’ MacMillan the evening was a Triumph.
We met the following morning for buffet breakfast followed by The Challenge Foursomes Shotgun Matches. For some a reminder was necessary of their partners, drawn the night before.
A beautiful Autumnal day to conclude this very unique GGC event, superbly led by our Sifters – who’s quick wit and repartee is as sharp as his dress sense.
The winning score was Peter McEachran with 9 out of 13 points.
